 The Mission

As part of his mission, Dr. Benson N. Modie offers organised learning programmes for schools, work organisations, and the public.  His content is provided through presentations, seminars, and workshops.

“As a personal development educator, my overall intention is to help you to become better than not others, but better than you have always been.  I teach individuals like you, how to organize themselves for effective living, including the ability to work under minimal supervision, in all work roles.  The lessons I teach are those we, as society, don’t usually consider that important, but in essence are critical.  These are lessons which, although you may be a professional, like I am a geologist, we all need so badly to team up well with others at work, family, the community, or across humanity in general.  While your professional studies and qualifications can land you a great job, these lessons will certainly make you perform greatly in your job.  There’s nothing in the curriculum of any educational course work you’ve done that teaches these lessons”.

ADVANCED PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR WORKPLACE PRODUCTIVITY
Igniting Your Employees' Self-DriveTo Work Under Minimal Supervision

Make work-life easier and enjoyable for your employees by helping them focus more on what they can give and how they can enhance their contributions.  This way will allow for their development and growth in personal productivity, across all aspects of work, including their own personal ventures in life.  Begin with the following words in mind, taken from Stephen R. Covey’s The 8th Habit book, when he says, “organisations are established to serve human needs, and there is no other reason for their existence”.    Help your team to learn how to make their value the purpose of showing up at work, to serve human needs, and seize the opportunity to create a sense of meaning in what they do, and hence a feeling of happiness in their work-life.

1.    5 Lessons on Motivational Education Work Team-Members Need for Setting-Up

What is Motivational Education?

Motivational education involves the provision of enlightening, insightful, and inspirational lessons on basic principles for effective role-playing in life.  The critical aims being to help learners uplift their spirit, and as well give them a push to sustain the momentum they need to make advances in life.  The real value of motivational education is in applying what you learn to create outcomes that can influence how you feel, which is at the most, feeling good.

The following is how organisations would like work team-members to be setup:

  • Motivated
  • Inspired
  • Self-starting
  • Synergistic
  • Service-oriented

However, most work team members lack these key workplace productivity qualities, and very few, if any, are likely to develop them without the intervention of their organization.  In this seminar, work team-members will learn five transformational lessons that’ll help them to become effective workplace role players.

2.    5 Lessons on Advanced Personal Development Work Team-Members Need to Learn and Internalize

What is Advanced Personal Development?

Personal Development is essentially a lifelong learning process that seeks for self-improvement in personal qualities, such as, self-belief, self-esteem, confidence levels, as an example.  In addition, personal development involves the acquisition of new knowledge and skills aimed at achieving personal goals in the physical, financial, relational, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual aspects of one’s life.  In ‘Advanced Personal Development’ emphasis is placed on helping individuals build a structured life anchored on Personal Strategic Foundations, the key ones being Purpose, Misson, and Vision.  This is a personal organisational setting that enhances further the quality of personal development beyond self-esteem, high confidence levels, goal setting etc., and goes the extra mile to mould and build holistic quality beings.  The latter defines individuals that can master the art of self-leadership, self-management, self-organisation, effective and efficient utilization of critical resources i.e. time, efforts, and money, and are characteristically result-oriented.

The following top qualities for personal productivity are what organizations expect to see in individual employees:

  • Purpose-drive
  • Self-organisation
  • Self-management
  • Vision-alignment
  • Accountability

A missing link of personal development in the education system is the major obstacle in nearly all initiatives developed to enhance workplace productivity.   Consequently, most work team-members do not possess personal management qualities necessary to enhance their levels of personal and workplace productivity.  Bridging this gap is not something that individuals are likely to do by themselves, except a few who may already be at a great level of enlightenment and inspiration.  Organisations therefore need to assist their work team-members to become effective role players.  In this seminar, work team-members will learn five personal development lessons that’ll transform them to become competitively advantaged and enterprising employees.

35 Lessons on Wellness Maintenance Work Team-Members Need to  Internalize

What is Wellness Maintenance?

In this lesson, wellness refers to a state of health and the quality of life, relative to the condition of the body-mind-spirit entity and the environment of habitation.  A desired state of wellness is one marked by a positive status of the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects, as well as joyous human relations experiences.  A state of wellness, as with other human life support systems, has a natural tendency to deteriorate, hence needing regular maintenance.  The latter involves a process of practical activities designed to achieve and maintain a desired state of wellness.

The following are key indicators for work-readiness that organizations would like their individual employees to feel:

  • Loved
  • Healthy
  • Joyful
  • Peaceful
  • Fit

Arguably, consistency in the inconsistency of a state of wellness, in general, is the most limiting factor to high or adequate levels of workplace productivity by work team-members.  Such is a challenge that most individual employees often lack the capability and wisdom to effectively manage by themselves.  Hence, organisations have the need to facilitate wellness-enhancing initiatives to assist their work team-members.   In this seminar therefore, work team-members will learn five wellness maintenance lessons that’ll help them to be always ready for work engagements.

4.    5 Lessons on Productivity Work Team-Members Need to Grasp

What is Productivity?

In simple terms, productivity refers to the amount of output or results, in both quality and quantity, relative to a measure of a given set of inputs, such as time, efforts, and finance.  These three, which forms basic critical resources, represent key inputs needed to meet defined needs through the availing of services and products, essentially, the outputs.  A desirable state, or the most sought-after indicator, is when more output is produced with the same amount or a lesser number of inputs.  This is when productivity is defined as having gone up or increased, signalling a healthy bill of the economy of the concerned organisation, as well as creating a possibility for a likely upswing in the customer satisfaction index.  It is worth noting that overall productivity begins at the level of individuals, when they each display undoubtful qualities of capability, and can visibly create value and as well add numbers in terms of finished products or service provided within a given period.

The following are key productivity indicators that organizations desire in their individual employees:

  • Knowledgeable
  • Skilled
  • Creative
  • Committed
  • Resilient

These highly desirable traits are rarely, if ever, readily available in individual employees but must be nurtured over some period.    In addition, the development of a work culture marked by such progressive qualities is not without challenges, given the fact that most employees never really admit to lacking in some capabilities.  It’s therefore important that organisations step up to encourage and guide their work team-members to attain qualities for top notch workplace productivity.

This seminar will discuss five vital lessons that work team-members must learn, to upgrade their level of contribution at work and ensure growth in workplace productivity.

ADVANCED PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG PERSONS
Placing Young Persons on A Vantage Point To See Beyond the Horizon

No doubt the advent of technology has enhanced the quality of the experience of life by some great length.  In addition, human lifestyles have become highly modernised, complex, and overwhelmingly sophisticated.  Nevertheless, to a young and inexperienced learner, still early in his/her journey of life, this has brought-in a great deal of distractions.   Most young persons struggle to pay attention and make the most out of their learning experience.  Sadly, many have either dropped out of school to chase after the promises of modern lifestyles or have simply failed to make the required grades to remain within the education system.    “When the student is ready the teacher will appear”, so says the wise from yesteryear.  On the contrary, when the student is not ready teaching becomes a struggle with no great outcomes.   If you sense struggle where you teach, it’s time to help your students to ready themselves for the learning experience.  Make effort to empower your students with foundational knowledge and life skills, to help them understand and appreciate the value of education in their lives, in the long-term.

The Truth About the Journey of Life That Every Young Person Need to Learn and Internalize

What is the journey of life?

In a metaphorical sense, the period of existence by any individual, which begins at conception and ends at the point where the human body becomes dysfunctional, can be considered as a journey through the experience of life.  This is a period marked by processes of development and several growth stages, in the lives of individuals.  Notably, the journey summarily consists of the development and growth of the physical, mental, and spiritual realms, in terms of capability to effectively play significant roles in life.  For the traveller i.e. the individual, the journey entails specific engagements or involvement in life, the specifics of which are determined by the different stages of development and growth e.g. foetus, baby, child, adult etc.  Whereas the earlier stages are more about discovery of the reality of life, with travellers learning to find their voices and pathways, the succeeding stages entails focused efforts at engaging or living in a purposeful, meaningful, and fulfilling way.  The latter is the ultimate experience of life sought after in this unfolding journey of life, and the turning point is the framing of personal life desires, essentially, a vision for a better future.  A personal vision, once established, serves as a drawcard for the traveller, and most importantly, provides a target and clear direction of where the journey ought to be headed.

The following are 5 critical lessons about the journey of life that every young person must know and internalize:

  • It's time-bound
  • It's knowledge-driven
  • It's self-led
  • It's health dependent
  • It's socially interdependent

Young persons commonly, and expectedly so, lack the wisdom to fully comprehend the vastness of the possible and greatly fulfilling experience that life can offer.  Given the busyness and distractive nature of modern human lifestyles, young persons will always find it hard to pick on the right choices by themselves.  No doubt, they need the guidance of parents, teachers, and society at large.  This seminar discusses the five critical lessons, which both parents and teachers can teach young persons to help them ready themselves for a lengthy and fruitful journey of life.
