How To Make Sure Life Happens For You
"You know, it’s not unusual to experience moments of
great believe and zeal about yourself, like for example, landing a job after a
long search, or starting your own family, or at the beginning of a new year,
following a period of rest and rejuvenation etc. These
are moments when you are at the peak or crest of your thoughts of optimism. In most cases it’s because you hold tight to
the believe or principle that things do get better in life, which is true in
the sense where you’ll be giving assurance to put-in effort to influence better
results, going forward. So, your mental
space then hosts hopeful and exciting thoughts about possibilities for the
future, and these giving you an ambience of feeling well organised and raring
to go. However, as the days, weeks, and
months goes by, unfortunately, as you may possibly have experienced or noticed
in the past, the early enthusiasm and optimism slowly drops, and eventually
dissipates. When this happens your
experience of life simply reverts to where you were earlier, when you didn’t
feel any sense of good or progress, but only a sense of stagnation. Once you get bottled up like this, your life
ceases to happen for you as you desire, and your time on Earth swiftly wastes
away uneventfully. The truth though is
that you and I are forever wired for success, and there’s always a way to bounce
back and make headways. Would you believe it if I told you that, in most cases, under normal circumstances,
when life doesn’t happen for you as you desire, you’re the missing link? Maybe? You don’t know?"
How To Make Sure Life Happens for You
To be successful and live a fulfilling life
experience, you must envision and then create the future you desire. Only you can figure out the exact future you
desire to live and experience. This is
because, though there might be some overlaps to some extent, the specifics of
your aspirations, desires, interests, preferences, wishes etc., are
unique. Hence, to truly make this a
reality, you must step up to make it happen. You cannot just take what others
are creating, for themselves, and make it the future you desire, and expect
that it will fulfil your aspirations for living a greatly inspired life
experience.
What really makes your life to not happen as you
desire is because you’re not active at the causative end of things. Though you may be enthusiastic, excited, and
optimistic about the kind of life experience you want, much of the results and
outcomes anticipated are tied to what you expect others to do. So, when you get to meet challenges and
obstacles along the way, the tendency is to heavily rely on others than getting
yourself to be the main act. When others
don’t respond, timeously as is critical for you, or they don’t respond at all,
you lose your moment to get life happening, or you simply get stuck, maybe
indefinitely, and never get to meet your own expectations about a greatly
fulfilling life.
You may be asking now, “just how do I begin to plant a
seed, in my mind, that’ll make sure life happens for me?” A great question to add to your mental space,
indeed. I would say, like in the title
of one of my books, “train your mind to think positive”, as part of your
early thoughts to revive your true nature, think this way:
Naturally, you
are already empowered to take charge of your life, to enable you to create the
future you desire to live and experience.
Firstly, you’ve got to be your own leader, and as well the driver of
your life, on a daily basis, to ensure you maintain both the direction and the
momentum you need to reach for the future you desire. Secondly, and most importantly, you’ve got to
prioritize self-education on your personal development and growth, so you’re
better placed to know what matters most to get your life there. In addition, you’re naturally expected to
have your own personal organisational setting or plan to ensure you are
effective at what you do to manifest your desires. All this, you can trust in the learning
process, but you must step up for you.
Perhaps, most importantly, you must believe that you
can get better and do better than you are now.
Your growth is ever critical to your success, and
equally defines your value in life. The
provision of a new beginning, like a new day, week, month, or a new year, could
be that moment when you need to confirm your relevance to life, going into the
far future, by securing a spot in the team of those that nature depends on to
make life happen. To become a key contributor,
in life, now and ahead, and in any enhanced relevant way, requires that you
continue to escalate your own personal development and self-growth.
If you don’t
continue to grow yourself, this will limit your ability to make success, and
equally your relevance to life will begin to dwindle. I’m reminded here, of words below, which used
to be commonly shared by one of the greatest wisdom teachers to ever grace
human life on earth, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. These
words of wisdom catapulted me further along my own path of personal development
and growth, and I hope they get you inspired too, enough to get you on the move. Here they are:
“The difference between a flower that is dead and one that is living, is that the one that’s living is growing”
So, you want to make sure that you keep on growing to
create a sense of being lively, and happily living each moment of your gift of
life. Now, the catch phrase I would like
to throw at you, with the hope you’ll respond positively is, “allow
yourself”. You have endless power
within, so, allow yourself to draw from it to create the future you
desire. Allow yourself to challenge you
to step up and reach for the future you desire.
If not you, then who?
At this point I would like to give you a push to set
you on a trajectory, in the direction of the future you desire. Take it as your big challenge of the present
moment, in a way, the beginning of something big that’ll make life truly happen
for you. It’s an 8 tasks challenge termed
“8 ways to begin making life happen for you”. This is basically about mental reorientation
and practical reorganization, regarding, for example, what matters most for you
and how you can organize for engagement and success.
8 Ways to Begin Making Life Happen for You!
Task 1
Practice seeing yourself as an entity with a mission
to fulfil!
Make effort to regularly single yourself out from the
rest of your team in life and imagine yourself as a significant and critical
component of society, with a specific role to play every day, which no one else
but you, were created to do. As you get
up each morning, figure out at least one thing you must do to make a difference
in life, as part of your role in society, at home, at work etc. This will give you a sense of purposefulness,
and hence make your life feel a meaningful, worthy, and enjoyable venture.
Task 2
Consider your life a special project to undertake and accomplish
successfully!
See a larger picture in terms of your mission in life
and imagine yourself as a project that began with your conception, followed by
your physical, then mental and skills development etc., to a well-established
contributor ready to serve life in a big way.
This will really make you feel an important, and even indispensable,
component of the jigsaw puzzle of human life on Earth, and ultimately inflate
that sense of purposefulness and meaningfulness in your life.
Task 3
Make learning your partner to help you figure out what
it takes to get there!
Appreciate the fact that you must take a series of
steps to advance from where you are now and get to the future you desire to
live and experience. Whatever your
desires about living a successful and greatly fulfilling life experience, look
around and learn from the experiences of those who are accomplished. So, make it a habit to learn something new
each day to enhance your level of understanding, on what you need to do. Doing so will boost your confidence to act
and make life happen for you.
Task 4
See what it takes in you!
You already have what it takes. You were created with all the necessary
qualities for you to develop and grow into the kind of successful person you
would like to be. For each day of your
life, make it a deliberate act to recognise the power you have within, or the
power that you are, whichever way you comprehend your natural-self, and see
that as your key resource, readily available to tap from and build the life you
want. Avoid giving away your power by
declaring yourself inadequate, uneducated etc., and instead choosing to heavily
rely on others to make life happen for you.
See the natural ability and potential you have, to transform yourself
and become better at influencing your life as you want, so you can yield the
results or outcomes you desire. As you
touch base with what it takes, that’s already in you, the peak of your curve of
self-belief will rise sky-high.
Task 5
Act on what it takes!
Once you have touched base with your inner abilities
and the potential you host within, what follows must be a deliberate attempt to
ready yourself for a massive transition, by getting your power set for
action. It maybe you need to reorganize
first your mental space, by getting rid of clutter, to accommodate only the
forward-looking thoughts. This way will
reduce any mental fatigue or overwhelm, and help you think clearly, as you
figure out your next course of action.
You may also, at this stage, perhaps be needing to learn some specific
ways that’ll help you to get going, and hence, you’ll be looking to engage your
abilities to transform the potential you have into some very important
actionable skills you must have. This
will get you ready to transform your power into efforts and create the results
or outcomes you want.
Task 6
Single out what matters most in your life!
Not all that you regularly do, or spend your efforts,
time, and money on, has value to make life happen for you in a more satisfying,
lengthy, and fulfilling way. Life truly
begins to happen when you create clarity about the exact future you desire to
live and experience. It’s at that point
when you begin to appreciate and understand the value of a personal vision, or
maybe as many prefer to label it, a dream of the future desired, and you begin
to create a vision board, or write your vision statement. Once you have built clarity about the future
you desire, then it becomes easy for you to pick the right tasks to spend your
resources on. Perhaps more importantly,
than just creating a vision board or vision statement, you’re far much better
defining what you stand for in life, as an individual. This calls for the documentation of your
purpose or reason for being. Beyond
this, you’ll be all set to get life happening your way, in terms of the
direction you are heading, as well as the specific tasks you must engage your
resources on to get you there.
Task 7
Develop a personal organizational and self-management
system!
Now, since Task 1 of this challenge, where you made
sure to present yourself to life as an entity with a mission to fulfil and
followed that up with declaring your life as a special project that must be
fully lived to completion, you went on to partner-up with the learning
process. In addition, you’ve had a peep
into what you already have within and have made the effort to ready yourself
for getting your life moving forward. Not
only that, but you have also created clarity about where you want to go and made
it easy to pick on the right tasks for getting you there.
What now remains is to ensure that you are well
organised to get yourself acting, so you can make the journey to your
vision. What next then, you may
wonder? Well, you must develop and
document a personal organisational and management system, which when you look
at, daily, will respond by saying something like, “this is what you stand for,
you have a mission to fulfil, your entire life is a project, this is where you
are headed, and today’s task is this, as an example”! You’ll decide what shape it takes, maybe a
little written summary, a chart, a recording, whatever appeals to you, but
something that will remind you every moment how you ought to be engaging to
make life happen for you. Something
that’ll say to you “no, you can’t spend your money, time, or efforts this way,
it certainly won’t get you there, because it’s not aligned to your purpose, or
your vision is in the opposite direction”.
Setting yourself this way shows intent about taking charge of your life
and forms the early stages in getting your life structured for effective
living. This personal organisational and
self-management system is the precursor to building a personal strategic plan,
which is the ultimate key indicator to getting full control of your life.
Task 8
Engage life as per your management system!
This is where life happens. You get up each morning,
and you do as your personal organizational and self-management system
guides. Surely, being a new approach, it
certainly will be challenging, but so is every other way of life you have had
to learn. You’ll fall, but you must get
up. There’ll be many barriers along the
way, but just treat them as a test for your resilience and tenacity. Ultimately, things will work out, because
things do indeed get better if you commit to making the necessary efforts.
P.S. Thank you so much for reading this all the
way. Remember, all great achievements
are driven by the learning process, which is when you gain knowledge and skills
that you need to transform your desires into reality. As the wise from yesteryear taught, things
don’t just happen, but you must make them do.
The same applies to your life, and I trust you made some few value picks
to get your own life happening as you desire.
